Jess Graves hard-launched pink as the color of the summer via her iconic collab with Chava Studio (the official cool-girl substack brand) in April. Together, Olivia and Jess created a $500 light pink button-down that sold out in mere HOURS. What’s the opposite of a recession indicator? Because whatever it is, I think we just witnessed it.
Anyway, I am not much of a pink girl to begin with, but I wasn’t a butter yellow either, and look how fast I hopped on that train. As someone with olive skin, I tend to stick with earthy tones and rarely reach for something bright or really warm (it feels too… republican?? on me). That said, Jess, Tariro, and Monkih (to name a few) have been doing the lord’s work to convince all of us adversaries to rethink pink!!
And so, here we are, a list of pink things for summer in your inbox. But first, 2 rules of thumb to avoid looking like an easter egg:
If you have green undertones (like me), opt for a berry pink over a light pink.
Chunky, silver jewelry will do wonders if you (like me) have an identity crisis any time you put on something pink
With that said:
The famous Kyoto pink pants by Le Set
This necklace from Cos
These Jil Sander flats
These berry pink Tekla towels
This scarf that would be sickkk tied as a shirt
This loveseat in “sundazed coral”
This dress from Ciao Lucia, very aptly named the “Serena”
Obviously, The Love List x Chava Studio shirt
These fun Alaïa sunnies
This beautiful Starling ring
That’s it!
Xx,
Serena

Respectfully, I hardly think that a very niche cross-section of fashion devotees, particularly of the even more niche Substack sort, are an insightful indicator of recession economics. I found it somewhat tone-deaf and out of touch when Jess Graves suggested as much herself.
